They design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems, lead technical projects, and mentor junior developers. In addition to deep technical expertise, they are skilled in communication and collaboration tools to coordinate effectively with distributed teams. Their responsibilities also include making architectural decisions and ensuring best practices in software development. Remote work allows them flexibility in location and often in working hours.

How does a remote senior software developer maintain effective collaboration with distributed team members?

As a Remote Senior Software Developer, collaboration typically relies on a mix of asynchronous communication tools (like Slack, Jira, or Trello) and scheduled video meetings to align on project goals and progress. You'll need to proactively document your work, share updates, and participate in regular code reviews to keep everyone on the same page. Building trust and rapport with team members across different time zones is essential, so clear communication and flexibility are key. Many organizations also encourage virtual team-building activities to foster a sense of connection despite the physical distance.

About the Role: We are seeking a highly organized and technically adept Senior Electrical Engineer to act as the primary Technical Subcontracts Manager for a newly awarded space program. In this fully remote role, you will serve as the critical bridge between our internal engineering team and external hardware suppliers.

Technical Guidance: Provide necessary technical inputs regarding Power Supply CCAs, Software Defined Radios (SDR), and other COTS payload components.
Stakeholder Communication: Conduct rigorous technical reviews of vendor deliverables and provide clear, actionable status updates to internal engineering teams.
Qualifications:
Proven background in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Prior professional experience in technical vendor management, subcontract management, or project engineering for complex hardware.
Direct experience in the space industry, with specific expertise working with Radar & Sensor technologies, space payloads, and space-rated clock modules.
