As a remote senior project manager, you work from home to manage a project for a company or organization. This involves planning the project, ensuring all employees meet each deadline, and helping lead the development of the project. In this role, you often help determine the scope of the project, make decisions about what types of employees to hire, and manage the project's budget. At McGraw Hill we create best-in-class, next-generation learning platforms that are used by millions of students and educators worldwide from kindergarten through graduate school. Our goal is to accelerate student success through intuitive and effective learning tools and content that maximize a teacher’s time and a student’s learning experience.

If you have the passion and technical expertise to thrive in an innovative and agile environment, we want to learn more about you.

What is this role about?

We are seeking for a Project Manager who is responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects within McGraw Hill International’s portfolio. This role ensures projects are managed end-to-end, including scope definition, schedule creation and execution, risk management, and communication planning. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:

  • Develops and implements robust communication plans, ensuring all stakeholders—internal and external—are informed of project status, risks, and solutions.
  • Builds and cultivates strong relationships with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and trust across global time zones and cultures.

Alignment with Program Strategy:

  • Collaborates closely with the Program Manager to align project milestones and deliverables with overall program strategy.
  • Supports scenario planning and resource allocation as needed.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Establishes and enforces robust risk management frameworks to anticipate, assess, and mitigate issues across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensures challenges are addressed promptly to avoid disruptions to project success.

Change Control and Quality Assurance:

  • Manages change control processes, ensuring all changes to scope, schedule, or budget are clearly communicated and approved by stakeholders.
  • Maintains project integrity and alignment with business goals.
  • Proactively identifies obstacles and develops innovative solutions to ensure project success.

Problem Solving and Adaptability:

  • Demonstrates adaptability and resilience in managing shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Leads through change, maintaining focus on strategic outcomes while empowering teams to adapt and deliver under pressure

Cross-Cultural Collaboration:

  • Provides direction to teams across multiple regions, including Middle East, Latin America, Asia, India, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
  • Navigates cultural differences and language barriers to foster strong working relationships globally.

Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence:

  • Champions continuous improvement, leveraging post-project reviews and performance metrics to enhance delivery frameworks and methodologies.
  • Implements process innovations to streamline execution, reduce risk, and improve stakeholder satisfaction.

What you need to be considered:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in edtech, K-12 publishing, or education markets.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Proven ability to launch products from 0–1 and deliver end-to-end product solutions.
  • Role requires a blend of technical expertise (e.g., software development and integration) and business acumen (e.g., market trends and strategic planning).
  • Demonstrated experience with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project)
  • Willingness to stay up to date with innovative technologies and digital trends.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks, work independently, and perform well under pressure.
  • Experience communicating complex issues clearly with customers and internal resources who may not have English as their first language.
  • Solutions-focused mindset with a track record of resolving challenges effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
