  • Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Identify and drive improvements to close timelines, workflows, and controls.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and internal management reports.
  • Support external reporting requirements and ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosures.
  • Analyze financial results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and internal control frameworks.
  • Coordinate audit deliverables and proactively address audit findings.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
  • Leverage financial systems such as Deltek (Vision/Vantagepoint) and BlackLine to optimize workflows.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation, including the use of AI-driven tools in finance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scalability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop staff accountants.
  • Establish clear priorities, ensure accountability, and foster a high-performance team environment.
  • Lead or support cross-functional initiatives, including system implementations, process redesigns, and strategic finance projects.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting.  AEC Industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in:

    • Month-end close processes
