Job Description:

Seeking a backend-focused Full Stack Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for building and supporting high-scale, customer-facing applications. This role is approximately 80–85% backend and 15–20% frontend, with a primary focus on designing and maintaining distributed microservices, developing scalable APIs, modernizing existing systems, and supporting AI-powered customer experiences.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Go or Java, AWS, distributed microservices, and React, and will enjoy balancing new feature development with production support and modernization efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to initiatives involving security, fraud prevention, AI integrations, and cloud-native backend development.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain distributed backend microservices supporting high-scale production applications
  • Build, enhance, and maintain RESTful and/or gRPC APIs
  • Modernize existing backend services while developing new functionality
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Develop AI-powered integrations and customer-facing experiences leveraging modern AI technologies
  • Support initiatives focused on account security, authentication, and fraud prevention
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams
  • Contribute to React-based frontend features and bug fixes as needed (approximately 15–20% of the role)
  • Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
  • Work within an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong backend development experience using Go, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
  • Experience building distributed microservices in production environments
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of concurrency, multithreading, performance optimization, and observability
  • Experience participating in code reviews and writing clean, maintainable code
  • Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and/or Confluence
  • Working knowledge of React, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across engineering teams
