Job description

The Sherwin-Williams Uniformed Security Officer has responsibilities including access control, public relations, emergency response, and customer service.  Officers enforce security policy and procedures and are responsible for the security and safety of the building and its tenants, and the protection of company assets. This position is located at the Global Headquarters in downtown Cleveland, with potential shifts at Sherwin-Williams sites in Brecksville, Headquarters, and Hinckley Industrial Parkway. The department runs a 24/7 operation, and officers work various shifts, including 7 AM-3 PM, 10 AM-6 PM, 3 PM-11 PM, and 11 PM-7 AM (including weekends and holidays).  Other shift assignments and hours may be necessary to meet business needs.

This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with computer applications (i.e. Microsoft programs)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred:

  • Working towards Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Security Administration
    • 205-Hour Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Certificate or Certified Protection Officer Certificate.
    • Security Applicants with their Associate's Degree or higher in Criminal Justice or Security Administration, police academy training, or similar approved course work may have their 205-Hour OPOTA Certificate requirement waived.
    • At least 1 year of security experience in a corporate setting
    • Experience in using security applications such as card access, CCTV and alarm monitoring, etc.)

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS 

  • Ensure high levels of employee and guest satisfaction through excellent customer service
  • Assist employees and guests with concerns, including offering directions to help individuals navigate the building(s)
  • Visually monitor and evaluate persons entering the building for indicators as to their authorization to be present in the building
  • Assist guests and employees sign-in, as required
  • Monitor building and tenant alarm systems
  • Respond to various emergencies, alarms, or calls for assistance, and provide necessary assistance according to department procedure and Company policy duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
