You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the CODE 120S SECURITY DIRECTOR of PSNS and IMF.

Help
  • You will implement and manage program alarm systems for multiple Ocean Engineering spaces and buildings. Responds to alarms, assess required responses and trouble shoots system issues
  • You will implement security inspection programs for assigned Ocean Engineering projects, to meet requirements established by various Department of the Navy (DON) and national commands.
  • You will establish inspection schedules, review inspection findings and determine procedural changes in conjunction with Ocean Engineering management and facilities.
  • You will manage and audit classified material for the Ocean Engineering program and sub custodians.
  • You will manage security programs for safes including; combinations, combination change requirements, inventory control and safe access list for the Ocean Engineering program.
  • Manage the infrastructure and security for information technology systems, software and accounts.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent will be subject to a Counter-Intelligence Scope Polygraph (CSP) prior to being hired and randomly after hiring, not to exceed five years per Department of Defense Instruction Number 5201.91.
  • Incumbent will complete a background investigation which reviews personal information, past employment, family, finances, complete medical history (including any psychological issues), foreign travel, etc.

Qualifications
GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 Grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and planning security programs by interpreting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with established security regulations and implement security plans and ensure proper conformance involving classified and controlled unclassified information and materials.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning security programs by reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with established security regulations to recommend security plans and implement proper conformance involving classified and controlled unclassified information and materials.
This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
