Hours are not guaranteed and are based on client requests, dispatch needs, assignment availability, geographic coverage requirements, and operational demands.
Position Summary
Advanced Sentry LLC is seeking dependable and professional individuals to provide Remote Hands, Smart Hands, Facility Support, Site Inspections, Access Verification, and Unarmed Security Response services throughout the Portland / Hillsboro area.
This position primarily supports clients by providing on-site verification, documentation, inspections, facility checks, vendor support, and basic hands-on assistance under the direction of authorized remote teams.
The role may also include unarmed security response activities such as alarm response, site checks, access verification, and observe-and-report security duties.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position. All hours worked will be compensated in accordance with applicable federal, Oregon state, and local wage and hour laws.
Essential Job Functions
Remote Hands / Smart Hands Support
Provide basic on-site support under the direction of authorized technical teams, dispatch personnel, supervisors, vendors, or clients.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Performing visual inspections of equipment, rooms, cabinets, racks, cages, buildings, gates, doors, and access points.
  • Checking equipment indicators, alarms, screens, displays, labels, and operating status.
  • Taking photographs and videos for documentation purposes.
  • Verifying site conditions and reporting findings.
  • Confirming whether equipment, rooms, doors, or facilities are secured.
  • Performing authorized power cycles when specifically instructed.
  • Assisting with inventory verification and equipment identification.
  • Following approved procedures and written instructions.
  • Escalating any unclear, unauthorized, or unsafe requests.

Employees are not authorized to perform electrical work, equipment repairs, wiring modifications, network configuration changes, or other technical work outside their assigned training and authorization.
Facility Inspections and Site Checklists
Complete assigned inspections and site verification checklists.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Inspecting buildings, offices, warehouses, parking areas, data centers, server rooms, mechanical rooms, loading docks, and exterior grounds.
  • Verifying that assigned areas are secure and free from obvious safety hazards.
  • Identifying open doors, leaks, damage, tampering, environmental concerns, or unusual conditions.
  • Recording observations through approved reporting systems.
  • Submitting required photos, notes, timestamps, and reports.
  • Promptly reporting incidents, hazards, or concerns.
Security Response
Respond to client security requests and alarm notifications as assigned.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Responding to intrusion alarms, access control alerts, door alarms, gate alarms, camera alerts, and related service requests.
  • Conducting site inspections following alarm activations.
  • Verifying the security status of doors, gates, buildings, and restricted areas.
  • Providing an unarmed security presence when requested.
  • Monitoring and reporting suspicious activity.
  • Reporting property damage, safety concerns, unauthorized access attempts, or policy violations.
  • Contacting dispatch, client representatives, emergency services, or law enforcement when required by company procedures.
  • Completing incident documentation and reports.

This position is strictly an observe-and-report role. Employees are not authorized to physically intervene, detain individuals, use force, or engage in law enforcement activities.
Vendor and Access Support
Responsibilities may include:
  • Verifying authorization for vendors, contractors, visitors, and technicians.
  • Escorting authorized personnel when required.
  • Confirming access permissions.
  • Reporting access control issues.
  • Protecting confidential client information and site security procedures.
Communication and Reporting
Employees are expected to:
  • Maintain professional communication with dispatch, supervisors, clients, and vendors.
  • Check in and check out according to company procedures.
  • Provide status updates during assignments.
  • Complete accurate reports and documentation.
  • Report delays, hazards, incidents, and unusual conditions.
  • Remain on assignment until properly released.
