The Role

The Senior Manager, Security and Enablement Architecture leads the strategy and execution of modern security architectures that protect Lumen's platforms, data, and customers while enabling innovation.

In this role, you'll partner across engineering, cloud, and business teams to embed security into everything we build-balancing risk, speed, and outcomes in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Lead, build, and scale a diverse, highly skilled team of security architects and subject matter experts.
  • Drive risk-based security, focusing on key operations and data protection, culminating in key risk indicators for the enterprise.
  • Design and implement an information security strategy focused on understanding and mitigating risks to data and systems.
  • Architect, engineer, and operationalize security stacks for cloud, datacenter, and endpoint security.
  • Partner with our development teams, operations, and business stakeholders to set secure development practices.
  • Develop and maintain a cybersecurity risk management framework.
  • Oversee risk assessment process, employee security education and awareness, architecture, policy and compliance.
  • Evaluate security trends, evolving threats, risks, and vulnerabilities; define and implement corporate security strategy.
  • Lead security and privacy/data initiatives and ensure end-state products meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide Security SME support to development teams.
  • Interact directly with the security community regarding vulnerabilities and threats, particularly those that may directly impact Lumen.
  • Provide leadership on different forums - promoting security awareness, recommend solutions and stay current on new threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Continuous innovation and consistent improvement; establish vision, goals and successfully hit objectives. 
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful security initiatives.
  • Excellent judgement in prioritizing security efforts using a risk-based approach.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and present to multiple audiences from engineering to business unit leadership.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and conflicting priorities. Flexibility and the ability to improvise when needed.
  • Able to effectively manage and develop large teams on a global scale.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with a firm foundation on metrics to track activity and quantify the impact of security initiatives.
  • Experience with threat modeling, security design reviews, and security architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Cloud security architecture and deployment models.
  • Experience with securing and maintaining highly sensitive data.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$132,232 - $176,310 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY 
$138,844 - $185,124 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 
$145,456 - $193,940 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
