Systems Administrator and Security Analyst
The Opportunity:
Your combination of people skills and system administrator and cyber security expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting our United States Army warfighters? We're looking for a system administrator who is comfortable installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments. In addition, you're comfortable applying systems updates, patches, and conducting various scans to maintain cyber compliance. This combination of skill and action will help us build, field, and sustain next-gen software solutions for the U.S. military and deploy cyber security solutions that can be leveraged across the Department of War.
As a system administrator and cyber analyst on our project, you'll install, configure and manage RHEL and Windows operating systems to ensure that they meet operator needs while also being compliant with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NETCOM requirements. You will assess and manage system performance, while also authoring documentation to capture configuration changes, procedure updates, and troubleshooting guides (as needed). As a client-facing asset, you provide direct communications to the Customer to articulate technical challenges, risks, and solution options that are executable and affordable. Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You'll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.
This is an opportunity to apply and sharpen your sysadmin and cyber security skillsets while also becoming a critical asset that is responsible for both maintaining and upgrading deployed systems on tactical networks. We focus on growing as a team, so you'll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the teamwork through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a system administrator leader, you'll identify new opportunities to modernize the network, so your clients achieve their goals. Work with us and resolve daily challenges as we improve warfighter lethality, awareness, and decision making across the battle space.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • 7+ years of experience with Linux Systems Engineering or Administrating
  • Experience with RHEL 8 or 9
  • Experience in shell scripting and automation
  • Experience with monitoring and Cybersecurity tools including ACAS Security Center, Evaluate STIG, SCAP, STIG Viewer, or Nessus Scanner
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hypervisor, or KVM
  • Experience with containerization including Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of system hardening, security best practices, and networking concepts including IPv4, SSH and Firewalls
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with threat intelligence platforms and incident response frameworks
  • Knowledge of changes in RHEL 10
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
