Position Summary:
Revolution Space is looking for a dynamic and growth-oriented Deputy Program Manager (minimum 15 years of experience) to assist in all aspects of program execution. A Deputy Program Manager acts as the second-in-command to the Program Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations, managing project teams, tracking progress against budget and schedule, mitigating risks, and ensuring smooth delivery of program objectives, often taking on specific responsibilities like budget management, schedule monitoring, or quality control, while closely collaborating with the Program Manager to achieve overall program goals.
The position is full-time. This position can be accomplished remotely with travel ~25% of the time.
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting program planning and execution: Assisting in developing program plans, work breakdown structures, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Project management oversight: Monitoring project progress, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective actions to maintain project deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Risk management: Identifying and mitigating potential program risks, tracking risk mitigation plans.
  • Communication and reporting: Regularly communicating program status updates to stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and team members through reports and presentations.
  • Team leadership: Providing guidance and support to project teams, assigning tasks, and managing team performance.
  • Cost control: Tracking program expenditures, identifying cost variances, and implementing cost-saving measures. Experience with earned value management systems and government cost control systems a plus
  • Quality assurance: Ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes throughout the program and works closely with product assurance and mission assurance teams.
  • Contract management: Collaborating with contract and procurement teams to manage contracts and ensure compliance. FAR governed contracts a plus
  • Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, managing expectations, and addressing concerns.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • 15 years of technical management experience
  • Strong project management skills with experience in planning, execution, and monitoring
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of program management experience.
  • Understanding of aerospace industry standards and regulations to include FAR
  • Prior experience in program management, preferably within aerospace industry
