Job Summary:

Our Client is seeking to hire an experienced and accomplished Senior Associate - Insurance Defense Litigation to join their New York litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing litigation files from inception through resolution and a strong understanding of billing practices and client expectations. The Senior Associate will handle complex matters, mentor junior associates, and collaborate closely with partners on cases ranging from motor vehicle accidents, to slip and fall, premises liability, professional negligence, and others. Our clients in these matters include property owners, insurance companies, and municipalities.

**The Senior Associate - Insurance Defense Litigation is a remote position, but candidate must live within commutable distance to New York courts**

Responsibilities for Senior Associate - Insurance Defense Litigation:

  • Lead case strategy and handle files independently including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other court filings with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and claims professionals.
  • Accurately track billable hours and ensure proper invoicing.
  • Serve as a mentor for junior attorneys and paralegals.

Qualifications for Senior Associate - Insurance Defense Litigation:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be currently barred in New York.
  • A minimum of five to eight years of experience in litigation, must include insurance defense.

Required Skills for Senior Associate - Insurance Defense Litigation:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume caseloads with autonomy.
  • Experience appearing for mediation, arbitration, settlement conferences
  • Trial experience (second chair trial experience considered)
