Healthy Wave Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. In this vital role, you will provide a range of mental health services, including conducting evaluations, crafting tailored treatment plans, and executing both individual and group therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations and follow-up assessments, documenting all findings effectively.
  • Assess and evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to gain a holistic understanding of their situation.
  • Design tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring they align with best practices in psychotherapy.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to improve client outcomes.
  • Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health professionals, medical doctors, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate comprehensive care interventions.
  • Assist in the management of client referrals for additional services or hospitalization when necessary, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Educate and support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges.

You will work with a diverse array of clients, each facing unique mental health challenges. Qualifications
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Nevada is essential.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills, combined with a compassionate and sympathetic demeanor.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling position is strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with clients facing co-occurring disorders and knowledge of relevant treatment methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the major physical and emotional health conditions that may interrelate with mental health issues.
