West Hills Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LMHC, LICSW) to join our remote team. • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess client needs, documenting each case from initial consultation to treatment completion.
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through a comprehensive understanding of their history and presenting issues.
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, aligning with clients’ unique needs and goals.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques to promote healing and resilience.
• Regularly monitor and document clients’ progress throughout the treatment plan, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to develop cohesive intervention strategies for shared clients.
• Follow up with anyone involved in the clients’ care, ensuring continuity and consistency of treatment, particularly for those admitted to hospitals.
• Recognize and address behaviors that may hinder the recovery process, providing clients with actionable strategies for overcoming challenges.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in navigating mental health challenges and fostering supportive environments for clients.

As a part of our team, you will work with a diverse clientele representing various backgrounds, age groups, and mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction-related challenges. Your efforts will directly contribute to improved mental health outcomes, empowering individuals to achieve personal growth and stability.

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Holding a current and valid professional license as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
• A passing score of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrable experience as a mental health counselor, equipped with strong clinical skills and knowledge.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, ideally AVATAR, to efficiently manage client information.
• Awareness of the implications of physical health conditions, emotional health issues, and addiction disorders on mental health.
• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Strong understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by physicians.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with interpersonal attributes that promote trust and rapport with clients.

• Previous experience in a telehealth counseling setting is preferred and will be considered an asset.
• Experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic populations.
• Background in working with trauma-sensitive interventions and recovery-oriented approaches.

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, plus a sign-on bonus.
