We are seeking a Contract Medical Writer (Publications & Congress Support) to develop high-quality, scientifically rigorous content for peer-reviewed publications and congress-related deliverables. This role partners with Medical Affairs teams, investigators, and KOLs to translate complex clinical and scientific data into clear, evidence-based communications for global scientific audiences. The ideal candidate combines strong expertise in medical writing, literature analysis, and compliance-driven publication development.

What You'll Do

Develop Scientific Publications & Congress Content

  • Write and edit manuscripts including original research articles, narrative reviews, and consensus papers.
  • Develop abstracts, posters, and oral presentation materials for major medical congresses.
  • Support the creation and execution of publication plans aligned with client objectives and timelines.
  • Ensure scientific content is accurate, clear, and tailored to peer-reviewed and scientific audiences.

Translate Data into Compelling Scientific Narratives

  • Analyze clinical data and scientific literature to develop clear, evidence-based messaging.
  • Translate complex research findings into compelling narratives suitable for publication and congress presentation.
  • Ensure all materials are fully referenced and supported by high-quality evidence.

Ensure Compliance & Publication Integrity

  • Ensure all deliverables adhere to ICMJE, GPP guidelines, and client standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to publication ethics, authorship requirements, and transparency standards.
  • Manage reference annotation and documentation to support review and submission processes.

Collaborate with Scientific & Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work closely with KOL authors, investigators, and internal teams to develop and refine publication materials.
  • Incorporate feedback from authors, reviewers, and stakeholders into final deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal account and scientific teams to ensure alignment with program goals and congress timelines.

What Sets You Apart

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related field (PhD, PharmD, MD, DVM, or similar).
  • 3+ years of experience in publications and congress-focused medical writing.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of manuscripts, abstracts, and scientific posters.
  • Deep knowledge of publication ethics, Good Publication Practice (GPP) guidelines, and congress processes.
  • Exceptional scientific writing, editing, and literature analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with pharmaceutical or biotech Medical Affairs teams.
  • Experience collaborating directly with KOLs and academic investigators.
  • Familiarity with congress planning timelines and submission processes.
  • Proficiency in AI-powered tools and platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper, Midjourney, Copilot) to enhance content development and workflow efficiency.
