Crossroads is a family of professionals dedicated to providing the most accessible, highest quality, evidence-based medication assisted treatment (MAT) options to combat the growing opioid epidemic and helping people with opioid use disorder start their path to recovery. This comprehensive approach to treatment, the gold standard in care for opioid use disorder, has been shown to prevent more deaths from overdose and lead to long-term recovery. Our clinics are all outpatient and office-based, with clinics in Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Day in the Life of a Certifying Scientist

  • Certify toxicology results from LC-MS/MS analysis by evaluating chromatographic data, retention times, ion ratios, and quantitation curves.

  • Review quality control (QC) and calibration performance for each analytical batch, documenting any discrepancies and initiating corrective action if necessary.

  • Interpret complex drug testing profiles based on known pharmacokinetics and metabolism, and flag potential inconsistencies or issues.

  • Ensure proper documentation of all reviews, certifying events, and any communications in accordance with lab SOPs and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with lab personnel and clinical providers as needed via secure communication channels (email, LIS, video conferencing).

  • Support audit readiness by ensuring data integrity, traceability, and proper documentation practices.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and CLIA regulations at all times.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement among laboratory staff

  • Provide on-site laboratory coverage as needed, with up to 25% travel required.

Education and Experience requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or related scientific field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating LC-MS/MS systems in a toxicology or clinical lab

  • Familiarity with common LC-MS platforms (e.g., Sciex, Shimadzu, Thermo) and associated software

  • Strong understanding of drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and toxicological principles.

  • Excellent attention to detail and data integrity practices

  • Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA regulations

Travel

Remote but required to travel ~25%.
