Job description

Title: Content Developer (Contract)

Payrate: $24/hour

Duration: 12-month assignment

Hours: Full-time

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid — onsite Tuesday–Thursday, remote Monday/Friday)

Summary:

Do you have a gift for turning complicated, fast-changing information into clear, usable content? We're looking for a Content Developer to join a fast-paced content team supporting a large-scale customer care organization. You'll write, edit, and maintain the procedures that frontline specialists rely on every day — making sure they're accurate, easy to follow, and always up to date.

This role is a great fit for someone who's self-motivated, detail-obsessed, and comfortable driving projects forward even when the full picture isn't there yet. You'll work across short-turnaround updates and longer project cycles, often with incomplete information and shifting timelines, so adaptability matters as much as writing skill.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end cycle of writing, editing, and publishing internal procedures, working within a content management system
  • Support business update requests — validating changes, ensuring clarity and style consistency, and eliminating conflicting or duplicate content
  • Support larger projects by working with cross-functional teams to identify which procedures need to be created, updated, or removed, and track progress throughout
  • Partner with project and training teams to ensure procedures are ready in time for training and project launch dates
  • Manage multiple projects and update requests simultaneously, prioritizing independently
  • Occasionally contribute content for internal specialist-facing tools

What You Bring:

  • Experience in content or knowledge base writing
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, with zero ambiguity for the reader
  • Comfort working within a global business environment, engaging global stakeholders
  • Strong skills managing high volumes of information — determining relevance and next steps
  • Ability to cut through ambiguity by building and using a network of cross-functional partners
  • Experience working with global and virtual teams
  • Adaptability to changing technologies, processes, and environments
  • Track record of success working with cross-functional leaders
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality standards for sensitive materials

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Project management experience
  • Background in corporate communications or knowledge base writing
