This role operates in a completely remote capacity, allowing for flexibility while prioritizing the mental health needs of students. You will work Monday through Friday during regular business hours, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Utilizing technology for video sessions, documentation, and collaboration ensures that you can provide continuous support while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, ensuring an accurate understanding of their mental health status.
• Collaborate closely with students and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect personal goals, preferences, and the unique circumstances affecting their emotional well-being.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to each student's specific needs.
• Educate students and their families about mood disorders, treatment strategies, and effective self-care practices to foster a supportive home environment.
• Monitor student progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans directed at evolving needs and challenges.
• Work in partnership with school staff and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for each student.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying updated on the latest research in mood disorders and effective treatment methodologies.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to continuously refine your clinical skills.
• Advocate for the mental health needs of students while working to eliminate the stigma surrounding mood disorders in the educational setting.

This position specifically focuses on addressing the mental health needs of students experiencing mood disorders, including conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. You will engage with a diverse group of students from various backgrounds, striving to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where they feel empowered to express themselves and work towards resolution.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field is required.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois is essential.
• Proven expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly for mood disorders.
• A strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the capacity to work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse student populations and their families.
