This unique opportunity allows MRI Technologists to work through our Radiology Operations Command Center (ROCC), remotely supporting MRI operations across multiple Precision Imaging Centers.


Multiple shifts available based on business needs. 


Please note that you may be required to attend 1 to 2 months of training in Jacksonville FL, before working fully remote.

Position Overview

The Remote MRI Technologist uses our Radiology Operations Command Center (ROCC) to remotely support MRI examinations across multiple outpatient imaging centers.


Working closely with onsite MR Technologist Assistants, radiologists, and other members of the imaging team, the Remote MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety, proper MRI protocols, efficient scanner operation, and consistently high-quality diagnostic imaging.


This role requires strong MRI expertise, sound clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide clear direction and oversight in a remote environment.


Remote MRI Technologists also assist with training and orientation related to innovative MRI technologies and MR Technologist Assistant workflows.


Above all, our MRI Technologists are patient advocates. They combine technical expertise with compassionate care to help patients feel comfortable, informed, and safe throughout their imaging experience.


Essential Job Functions
  • Remotely operate and support multiple MRI systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Provide oversight and direction to onsite MR Technologist Assistants.
  • Ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety within the MRI environment.
  • Review MRI screening information and assess patients for potential contraindications before entering the magnetic field.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients to reduce anxiety, encourage cooperation, and support a positive experience.
  • Provide guidance to Technologist Assistants regarding patient pre-screening, venipuncture, aseptic injection techniques, and contrast administration as appropriate.
  • Select appropriate imaging coils and protocols based on the ordered examination, patient anatomy, and body habitus, or instruct the onsite Technologist Assistant accordingly.
  • Direct proper patient positioning and use of immobilization devices to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • Establish appropriate technical parameters and remotely operate MRI scanners and related equipment.
  • Monitor image acquisition and scan data throughout examinations.
  • Evaluate MRI studies for technical quality and determine when repeat imaging is necessary.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with radiologists, Technologist Assistants, imaging staff, and patients.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Remain current on developments, best practices, and emerging technologies in MRI.
  • Participate in educational programs and maintain required national and state continuing education credits.
  • Collaborate with Lead Technologists and other team members to maintain efficient patient flow and optimal scanner utilization.
  • Assist with the education and supervision of MRI students when applicable.
  • Help ensure adequate MRI supplies are available for daily operations.
  • Support required scanner inspections and ACR quality assurance processes, escalating equipment or quality concerns promptly.
Education & Certification Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current applicable state Radiography license.
  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR).
  • Venipuncture experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
Experience

Minimum of one year of related MRI experience required.

Experienced MRI Technologists with strong independent scanning skills are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with MRI operations, including standing, walking, stooping, and lifting without restriction.


Position may require lifting up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.


Schedule

Full-time schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Eastern Time.


Additional shifts and scheduling opportunities may also be available.


Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS certification.
  • Proficiency with PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Multimodality imaging experience.
