Job description

The Technical Solutions Engineer bridges technical expertise and commercial delivery, while providing a replicable process for executing critical projects and client onboardings. You'll work side-by-side with Inside Sales Reps to scope, design, and present customer solutions that align with Source 1's standards and the customer's goals. You'll also work with current Engineering Departments, Install Teams, and Project Managers to ensure quality service is being delivered. You'll ensure everything we propose is technically sound, commercially viable, ready to deliver, and properly executed.

This is a blended role with the first 90 days being on site, then transitioning to a hybrid on-site/remote role.

You'll engage from qualification through service completion; shaping proposals, defining requirements, reviewing designs, validating configurations, and confidently guiding customers through technical discussions to ensure solutions are clearly understood and successfully implemented. You'll also be involved with the execution of technical services. This includes pre-sales for projects and onboarding, along with the execution of said services.

You will be trusted with delivering robust, practical solutions for clients seeking technical remediation and MSP servicessolutions that can be easily scaled to future clients.

Key Responsibilities

       Partner with Inside Sales from Stage 2 (qualification) onward to define and validate customer requirements.

           Design and document solutions covering Managed IT, Infrastructure, Network, Cyber Security, Backup, and Cloud Services.

           Build accurate quotes and proposals in Quosal, ensuring technical and commercial alignment.

           Utilize NetSuite to assist in communicating when critical parts and equipment are in the hands of S1 and monitor as things are fulfilled to keep the client up to date on status.

           Participate in customer calls or presentations to explain designs and address questions.

           Manage ad-hoc technical queries throughout proposal, negotiation, and implementation stages.

           Collaborate with Delivery and Engineering to confirm scope accuracy and ensure a smooth handover to service activation.

           Maintain a current understanding of Source 1 services, pricing models, and competitive differentiators.

           Support continuous improvement by refining quoting tools and technical proposal content as the team scales

           Execute project implementation with the following directives in mind:

                                               Develop scalable solutions to be presented to future clients, while creating proper metrics to showcase our abilities and provide honest solutions.

                                   Ensure proper technical documentation is available for stellar support post completion (especially for Onboardings)

                                   Maintaining a solid client relationship by providing concrete technical knowledge/updates throughout the process.

           Maintain a healthy relationship with Sales, Project Management, and IT to effectively communicate client needs and develop tailored solutions as efficiently as possible.
Skills and Experience Required

           Minimum 4 years in a technical, engineering, or support role within Source 1 Solutions.

           Strong working knowledge of Source 1's core services: Service Desk, Infrastructure & Network Management, Backup & Recovery, and Cyber Security.

           Ability to translate technical details into clear, customer-focused language.

           Excellent communication and documentation skills precision and clarity matter here.

           Strong attention to detail when scoping, quoting, and validating solutions.

           Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shared targets and deadlines.

           Working knowledge of current technologies

           Experience carrying out critical projects for current clients
