What is a remote Salesforce?

A Remote Salesforce job refers to a position where professionals work from a location outside of a traditional office to manage, configure, or develop Salesforce solutions for organizations. These roles can include administrators, developers, consultants, or marketers who use Salesforce’s cloud-based CRM platform to help businesses manage customer relationships and data. Remote Salesforce professionals leverage cloud tools to collaborate with teams, customize Salesforce applications, and provide support to clients. These jobs typically require a good understanding of Salesforce products and may also require specific certifications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Salesforce administrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Salesforce Administrator, you need strong knowledge of Salesforce CRM, data management, workflow automation, and a Salesforce Administrator certification. Familiarity with Salesforce Lightning, reporting tools, and third-party integrations is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and self-motivation skills help you collaborate effectively and manage tasks independently in a remote environment. These skills ensure smooth system operation, user adoption, and business process optimization from any location.

How do remote Salesforce professionals typically collaborate with on-site teams and stakeholders?

Remote Salesforce professionals often rely on digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and video conferencing platforms to maintain clear communication with on-site teams and stakeholders. They participate in regular virtual meetings, provide updates on project progress, and use cloud-based project management tools to track tasks and deliverables. Building strong relationships remotely requires proactive communication, setting clear expectations, and being responsive to feedback. This collaborative approach ensures alignment on goals and smooth project execution, despite the physical distance.

Job description

Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is based on-site and requires four days per week in the Brea office to support collaboration and business needs.
Envista is looking for a Sr. Manager, Salesforce Architect to lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of Salesforce platforms, bridging business needs with technical solutions. The role will manage teams of developers/admins, overseeing complex project delivery, data architecture, and stakeholder engagement and advance the strategic development, governance, and operation of Envista's CRM platforms. This role will oversee Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and related CRM technologies to ensure they effectively support our business objectives. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with deep Salesforce technical expertise and the ability to drive platform vision, manage a high-performing team, and deliver scalable CRM solutions that enhance customer engagement and business growth.
Envista's commercial, customer service, and field service teams are implementing Salesforce across multiple businesses and regions. This role provides a unique opportunity to unify and optimize CRM practices by implementing best-in-class standards, driving high user adoption, and building a robust Salesforce foundation that empowers our global Sales and Service teams. This role collaborates cross-functionally to align CRM initiatives with business goals, all while ensuring the platform is secure, reliable, and poised to support Envista's next phase of growth.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Salesforce CRM Strategy & Roadmap:
  • Define and execute a comprehensive Salesforce CRM strategy and multi-year roadmap for Envista, establishing enterprise-wide standards, architecture guidelines, and governance policies that align the platform with business objectives.
  • Own the Salesforce product vision (spanning Sales Cloud and other CRM tools) and ensure planned enhancements drive value and support future growth.

Platform Management & Optimization:
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of Envista's Salesforce environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Identify and implement platform enhancements.
  • Conduct regular system audits and data quality checks to maintain data integrity and compliance.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases and emerging features, proactively leveraging new capabilities to continuously improve the platform.

Team Leadership:
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of Salesforce administrators and developers (including external partners or consultants).
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to ensure solution quality, while fostering a collaborative, innovative team culture focused on excellence and professional development.
  • Effectively prioritize team workloads and cultivate Salesforce skills (e.g., encourage certifications, training) to build a best-in-class CRM team.

Project Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and other departments to prioritize and deliver CRM projects that meet business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions by overseeing design, configuration, and customization efforts.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to manage the delivery lifecycle (backlog grooming, sprints, testing, deployment), ensuring on-time project completion and strong stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Act as the key liaison between IT and business teams for all Salesforce-related initiatives.

Platform Governance & Best Practices:
  • Establish and enforce governance best practices for the Salesforce platform including managing user access, roles/profiles, and data security; setting development standards (coding, configuration, change management); and defining processes for release management and quality assurance.
  • Implement frameworks for reuse, documentation, and change control to maintain a well-governed, compliant CRM environment.

User Adoption & Support:
  • Drive high user adoption and effective use of Salesforce across the organization.
  • Develop training programs, knowledge resources, and support processes to empower end-users and maximize CRM ROI.
  • Gather user feedback and usage metrics to identify improvement opportunities and champion continuous enhancements that improve user experience and productivity.
  • Provide tier-3 support for complex Salesforce issues and guide the team in rapid troubleshooting and resolution to minimize business disruption.

Integration & Data Strategy:
  • Ensure Salesforce is seamlessly integrated with adjacent systems (e.g., ERP, MDM, e-commerce, marketing automation) to provide a unified view of customer data.
  • Oversee data management strategies (data model design to data migration and cleansing efforts) guaranteeing that data quality and governance standards are met across the CRM ecosystem.
  • Leverage Salesforce reporting and analytics capabilities to deliver actionable insights to business leaders.

Innovation & Vendor Management:
  • Serve as Envista's subject matter expert on Salesforce and CRM technology trends.
  • Proactively research and recommend new Salesforce features, AppExchange solutions, or third-party tools that could enrich our CRM capabilities.
  • Maintain the relationship with Salesforce and other CRM technology vendors managing licenses, staying informed on product roadmaps, and advocating for Envista's needs.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT/CRM roles (with a focus on Salesforce), including several years in Salesforce platform management or Salesforce architecture positions.
  • Proven track record of leading CRM initiatives and teams; experience should include hands-on Salesforce administration or development as well as supervisory responsibilities.
  • Deep knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem - expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud (CRM) and familiarity with Service Cloud or Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong skills in Salesforce configuration, customization (Flows, Apex, Lightning Components), and integration methods (APIs, mulesoft) to design scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Excellent people management skills - able to mentor technical staff and coordinate work across on-site/offshore resources and multiple system integration partners and MSPs.
  • Solid project management capabilities, with experience delivering Salesforce or CRM projects through their full lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management, and tools (JIRA, etc.) to facilitate iterative and on-time delivery of enhancements.
  • Ability to balance multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker who can align technology plans with business strategy - capable of assessing complex business requirements and translating them into effective Salesforce solutions and roadmaps with clear business value.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail; comfortable using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure success of CRM improvements.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with and influence senior business stakeholders, gather and clarify requirements, and set appropriate expectations.
  • Adept at crafting presentations, documentation, and training materials for both technical teams and end-users.
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to build consensus and drive user adoption and change management efforts for new Salesforce processes or features.
  • Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with the latest Salesforce innovations, CRM trends, and industry best practices.
  • A self-driven leader who embraces continuous learning and encourages the team to obtain new skills and certifications.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing third-party Salesforce apps or emerging CRM tools is a plus, as is exposure to related domains like data analytics or customer master data management.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Certified Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales/Service Cloud Consultant) are highly preferred, demonstrating formal proficiency in Salesforce best practices.
