Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established and growing national organization, is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to join its finance and tax team. This is a highly visible role focused on multi-state sales and use tax compliance, offering the opportunity to work with complex transaction volumes, advanced tax technology, and cross-functional business partners.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on indirect tax professional who enjoys solving complex tax issues, improving processes, and working in a fast-paced environment. This position offers strong long-term growth potential within the tax function.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Research taxability issues, nexus requirements, and state-specific tax regulations.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and investigate variances between tax systems, ERP data, and general ledger activity.
  • Support tax audits, notices, and examinations by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Review and maintain exemption certificates and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, purchasing, technology, and other business teams on tax-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and automation.
  • Support tax technology platforms and compliance systems.
Qualifications
