IT Sales Engineer

Position Summary

American IT Solutions is seeking an experienced and motivated IT Sales Engineer to help expand our managed-services business. This hybrid sales and technical position will be responsible for identifying prospective clients, understanding their technology needs, designing appropriate solutions, supporting the sales process, and assisting with the successful implementation of managed IT services.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a consultative sales approach, enjoys creating new business opportunities and helping clients improve their technology environments. This individual can confidently move between prospecting, executive-level conversations, technical discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, and hands-on implementation. The successful candidate will be encouraged to identify cross-selling and account-expansion opportunities among both new and existing clients. Additional compensation will be based on qualified sales and completed business in accordance with the company?s current commission and incentive plan.

*Experience with Kaseya, Datto, Lenovo, and RingCentral is crucial to success in this role*

Base $25 per hour with Commissions upwards of $100K year one

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Sales Support

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for managed IT services, infrastructure solutions, cloud communications, hardware, cybersecurity, backup, and technical support.
  • Prospect for potential clients through networking, referrals, outbound outreach, industry events, and other business-development activities.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand prospective clients? business objectives, technology environments, operational challenges, and service requirements.
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear business benefits for executives, business owners, and IT decision-makers.
  • Develop solution recommendations, technical presentations, proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and participate in technical sales presentations.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, sales activity, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
  • Build long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients while identifying opportunities to expand services.

Solution Design and Managed-Services Implementation

  • Assess client IT environments and recommend solutions aligned with their business, security, performance, and budgetary requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding new managed-services clients, including technical discovery, documentation, system configuration, deployment, and transition planning.
  • Configure and support Kaseya and Datto platforms for remote monitoring and management, endpoint administration, backup, business continuity, security, and reporting.
  • Design and implement Lenovo workstation, laptop, server, and related hardware solutions.
  • Assist with RingCentral voice, messaging, video, and unified-communications implementations.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams, vendors, and client stakeholders throughout the sales and implementation lifecycle.
  • Document client environments, configurations, processes, licensing, support requirements, and implementation details.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs from the sales process to service delivery and ongoing account management.
  • Help resolve technical issues that arise during client onboarding and implementation.
  • Remain current on emerging technologies, managed-services best practices, vendor offerings, and competitive solutions.
