Job description

Seeking an outside Sales Area Manager for states in the New England territory.

We are looking for an experienced outside sales professional to support all customer needs in the northeastern US territory which includes the following states: CT, MA, NH, RI, VT. This position is fully remote and is expected to travel frequently with multiple overnight trips per month to effectively manage the entire territory. A company vehicle will be provided. The sales professional is responsible for managing existing customers and developing new business/customers for pavement repair materials and the equipment to apply them. The ideal candidate must have prior sales experience and be able to meet the physical requirements of the position including conducting outdoor equipment demonstrations.

Job Duties:

  • Work with Sales Regional Manager to develop and execute a territory management strategy in your specific sales territory that meets/exceeds sales goals and elevates our brand.
  • Responsible for sales, training and demonstrations of all products under the direction of the Regional Manager, for the pavement industry including rental, repair parts and service.
  • Responsible for increasing the sales and profitability of all products and brands working with all customers: government agencies, airports, consulting engineers, contractors and prospecting new customers and markets.
  • Maintain contact with all customers within the geographic region of responsibility with frequent visits and/or telephone contact as required to satisfy the customers' needs and meet sales goals.
  • Train and demonstrate to educate customers on all products in various methods such as: Product Training Seminars, Public Forum Presentations, Equipment Start-ups, New Product Introductions, and Test Installations.
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with all departments and vendors.
  • If a company vehicle is provided, you are responsible for proper use, maintenance, and safekeeping of the vehicle. Company vehicles are for business use only.
  • Salespeople that do not have an office at a facility shall maintain a workspace within their residence adequate to accommodate office activities.
  • Complete required paperwork as needed: manage salesforce database, weekly expense reports, quote sheets on all pricing, bid tabulation records on all bids, competitive pricing information on all quotes, daily call reports, monthly sales projection updates and monthly area reports, etc.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Sales or Marketing or related field preferred, OR equivalent outside sales experience
  • Valid US Driver's license, and clean driving record
  • 3 – 5 years minimum outside sales experience B2B and B2C. Experience selling to government agencies, government contract and bid experience a plus
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the pavement or bridge maintenance industry preferred (or related fields such as construction, asphalt, concrete, chemicals, etc.)
  • Previous experience selling equipment, or familiarity with construction equipment sales a plus
  • Employee must maintain an insurable driving record, and DOT Drivers Health Card
  • Be competent to properly and effectively operate all IT devices provided
  • Be competent to make travel arrangements in an organized and fiscally responsible manner including hotel, air travel, car rental etc.
  • Maintain a personal credit card with a minimum available credit of $5000 for use on business expenses prior to reimbursement
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role such as sitting, standing, or driving for long periods of time, or all day. Work outside on projects as needed, sometimes in hot, cold, and/or adverse conditions. Lift 50 pounds or more without assistance, bend, squat, etc.
  • Be available to travel and perform duties during daytime, evenings, nights and weekends as required to perform the job - 50% overnight travel may be expected
  • Enjoy working with, and a genuine desire to support customers
  • Excellent public speaking and presenting skills required
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications, Salesforce experience a plus
