Job description

In the role of Lead Financial Business Analyst, you will report to the Director of Royalties.

This role will be based in our Los Angeles, CA office.

In this role, you will lead the intersection of Finance and Data by driving high-impact initiatives that improve financial data quality, governance, and reporting. You will partner with Finance, Accounting, and Data Engineering teams to design scalable data solutions aligned with IFRS standards and SOX compliance requirements. This role plays a critical part in enabling accurate financial insights and strengthening internal controls through robust data governance frameworks. Success will be measured by improvements in data integrity, audit readiness, and the effectiveness of finance data platforms.

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Royalty and Content Accounting Data Ownership
  • Maintain data integrity between contracts, royalty statements, and content accounting systems. .
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance Alignment
  • Ensure finance data structures and processes align with IFRS requirements and support accurate, timely financial reporting.
  • SOX Controls Design & Execution
  • Design, document, and evaluate SOX controls related to financial data flows; support control testing and remediation efforts.
  • Data Architecture & Transformation
  • Partner with data engineering and systems teams to design scalable finance data models, pipelines, and integrations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, Accounting, and Technology leaders, translating business needs into data and system requirements.
About You

  • You possess deep knowledge of data governance principles, including data quality management, metadata, and stewardship frameworks.
  • You have hands-on experience with IFRS reporting standards and their impact on financial data structures.
  • You have experience designing, operating, and testing SOX controls, particularly in relation to financial systems and data processes.
  • You have worked closely with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, or similar).
  • You have experience translating complex finance requirements into data models, business rules, and system specifications.
