Remote Rn information

What is a remote RN?

Remote RNs, or Remote Registered Nurses, are licensed nurses who provide patient care, support, and education from a distance using telehealth technology. They may work for hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, or telemedicine providers and can perform tasks like triage, patient assessments, care coordination, and health coaching via phone or video calls. Remote RNs help expand access to healthcare, especially for patients in rural or underserved areas, while maintaining the high standards of nursing practice.

How to become a remote RN?

To become a remote nurse, you need the same training, education, and qualifications that non-remote nurses possess, namely nursing licensure in your state. Some virtual RN roles may also require some period of on-site training to learn procedures. Since your duties include performing patient triage via telephone, webcam, or chat apps, you also need strong technical skills and a high-speed internet connection. Fluency in more than one language is a big plus, as is a strong track record of success in self-directed roles. Additionally, a variety of telehealth certifications are available, and these increase your appeal with potential employers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote RN, you need a valid RN license, strong clinical judgment, and experience in patient assessment and care coordination. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication tools is essential. Outstanding communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for effective remote patient interaction and teamwork. These capabilities ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance and efficiency in a virtual healthcare environment.

What are some common challenges remote RNs face and how can they overcome them?

Remote RNs often encounter challenges such as limited direct patient interaction, reliance on digital communication, and the need to manage their time independently. To overcome these, it's important to develop strong telehealth communication skills, stay organized with digital tools, and maintain regular check-ins with both patients and colleagues. Building a supportive network within the healthcare team and seeking ongoing training in remote care best practices can also help remote RNs stay connected and effective in their roles.

What is the difference between Remote Rn vs Remote Lpn?

AspectRemote RnRemote Lpn
Required CredentialsRegistered Nurse (RN) license, BSN often preferredLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Work EnvironmentHospitals, clinics, telehealth platformsLong-term care, home health, telehealth
Employer & Industry UsageHospitals, healthcare providers, telehealth companiesLong-term care facilities, home health agencies

Remote Rns typically hold a registered nurse license and work in hospitals or telehealth settings, providing comprehensive patient care. Remote Lpns, with a practical nurse license, often work in long-term care or home health. While both roles involve remote patient interaction, Rns usually handle more complex cases, whereas Lpns focus on basic patient care tasks.

What is the best remote job for registered nurses?

Remote registered nurse positions include telehealth nursing, case management, and health coaching, which involve providing patient care and support via phone or video. These roles typically require active RN licensure, strong communication skills, and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. They offer flexible schedules and the ability to work from home while delivering clinical care.

Job description

Are you ready to have a career where you truly make a difference in people’s lives? Are you tired of the chaos of traditional hospital or physician office settings? Are you passionate about holistic health, longevity medicine, and helping people thrive?

If so, we may be the perfect fit for you.

Abundant Life Wellness Center is a Christian wellness center offering multiple integrative services under one roof. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to help grow our new Longevity Medicine division through telemedicine and/or in our Fort Worth office.

Our mission is to bring hope to our clients through effective, natural solutions for their health challenges in a way that brings glory to God. We strive to create a supportive, family-like work environment where our team genuinely cares for one another both inside and outside the office. This is an exciting opportunity for a provider who is passionate about proactive health optimization, peptide therapies, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), nutrition, and lifestyle medicine.

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking a compassionate and experienced practitioner specializing in peptides, bio-identical hormones, and longevity medicine to join our innovative wellness team on a part-time basis (approximately 15-20 hours per week).
  • This role offers flexibility through remote telemedicine visits and/or in-office consultations in our Fort Worth office while providing wellness and anti-aging therapies to patients seeking to optimize their health, vitality, and performance.
  • The ideal candidate has experience recommending bio-identical hormones and stacking peptides for a variety of wellness and longevity goals — not limited to GLP-1 therapies — and is confident developing individualized treatment protocols tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
  • As a key member of our team, you will deliver personalized care focused on longevity, hormone optimization, and peptide therapies through comprehensive assessments, customized treatment plans, write and refilling Rx and ongoing patient support.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations through telemedicine consultations
  • Educate patient on the best longevity program the client would succeed in
  • Prescribe and manage peptide therapies and BHRT
  • Recommend peptide stacks and hormone protocols based on patient goals and biomarkers
  • Adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, medical history and lab findings
  • Review and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic data
  • Conduct acute appointments from a holistic perspective and recommend services within the center as applicable
  • Perform Good Faith Exams for IVs or aesthetic services
  • Collaborate with our Medical Director, nurses, and Health Coach regarding patient care and implementation
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Help shape and grow the longevity and peptide medicine division within the practice
  • Help to create and maintain protocols with lead RN and Medical Director

Qualifications:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Texas in good standing
  • Active DEA registration
  • Experience in longevity medicine, integrative medicine, functional medicine, wellness medicine, or hormone optimization preferred
  • Strong experience with peptide protocols (not just GLP-1s) and BHRT prescribing
  • Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and virtual patient management systems
  • Ability to confidently educate and communicate with patients regarding treatment options and wellness strategies
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to practice independently while collaborating with the Medical Director
  • Passion for preventative and root-cause-focused healthcare
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

What We Offer:

  • Flexible part-time schedule
  • Remote telemedicine opportunities available
  • Supportive, family-oriented work culture
  • Meaningful work helping patients improve their quality of life naturally
  • Competitive compensation based on experience

Our Ideal Candidate:

The ideal provider is passionate about combining functional medicine with holistic wellness principles to help patients experience lasting transformation physically, mentally, and spiritually.

If our mission and values resonate with you, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and at least 2-3 referrals we may contact.
