Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at River Town Psychotherapy Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth to address the emotional and psychological challenges faced by clients during their rehabilitation process.
  • Performing thorough mental health assessments to identify clients' specific needs, crafting personalized treatment plans, and setting achievable therapy goals that align with their rehabilitation progress.
  • Providing advocacy for clients and their families by connecting them with community resources, support systems, and social services that promote sustained recovery.
  • Offering timely support and crisis intervention when necessary to ensure clients' emotional well-being and safety.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records, including progress notes and treatment plans, in accordance with all legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive and cohesive patient care.
  • Educating clients and their families on the psychological aspects of rehabilitation, coping strategies, and self-care techniques that support emotional resilience throughout their recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on clients undergoing rehabilitation for various health challenges, including but not limited to addiction recovery, trauma, and mental health disorders. By understanding their unique backgrounds and experiences, you will facilitate therapeutic interventions aimed at helping clients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their overall mental wellness.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia.
  • A minimum educational requirement includes a Master’s degree in Counseling or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building rapport with clients and collaborating with the healthcare team.
