Non-Patient Contact Role | Must Reside Within 1 hour of a Mercy Hospital
3-12hour shifts 6:45p-7:15a
Who We Are:
Mercy's HUB-also known as the Patient Placement and Staffing Center, Throughput Center, or Transfer Center-is a dynamic, centralized team that supports:
  • Patient Placement & Bed Planning
  • Staffing & Nursing Logistics
  • Coordination of Patient Transfers into Mercy Hospitals (East Region)

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced acute care nurse who wants to stay clinically engaged without the physical demands of bedside nursing. Our HUB nurses work remotely via phone and computer to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Position Overview:
The East Region Throughput Center RN serves as a clinical expert and point of contact for:
  • Providers and facilities initiating patient transfers or admissions to Mercy hospitals.
  • Assigning patients to appropriate units based on facility-specific criteria.
  • Staffing coordination and logistics.

You'll use EMR modules, electronic scheduling systems, and collaborate with care teams to ensure a seamless, reliable experience for patients, providers, and coworkers.
This Position Is Fully Remote:
  • A high-speed internet connection is required.
  • Candidates must reside within 1 hour of one of the below locations to allow for on-site presence in case of technical difficulties.
    • Mercy- St Louis
    • Mercy Jefferson- Festus
    • Mercy South- South St Louis County
    • Mercy Washington- Washington, MO
    • Mercy Lincoln- Troy, MO
    • Mercy Southeast - Cape Girardeau, MO

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • RN License - Current RN license in the state of Missouri required.
  • Experience - Minimum 3 years in Telemetry or higher acuity nursing
  • Certifications - BLS required
  • Skills & Traits:

    • Strong verbal and written communication
