Forest View Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Counselor with licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team. Although you will primarily work from home, you will be integrated into a collaborative environment through virtual team meetings, peer consultations, and ongoing professional development sessions. • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to assess clients' psychological, emotional, and behavioral health at the initial consultation and throughout treatment.
• Develop personalized treatment and intervention plans that address the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, tailored to the specific goals and dynamics of the participants.
• Monitor client progress closely, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
• Collaborate intensively with multidisciplinary teams, including other mental health professionals, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to ensure holistic care delivery.
• Provide follow-up care for clients transitioning from hospital settings, coordinating with psychiatrists and other specialty providers.
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and actively develop strategies to mitigate risks that prevent positive progress in treatment.
• Support families and primary caregivers, equipping them with effective tools and strategies to assist individuals facing mental behavioral challenges.

In this position, you will work with a diverse clientele, each presenting unique mental health challenges, ranging from anxiety, depression, and trauma to more complex issues related to interpersonal relationships and life transitions. Our clients vary in age, background, and experiences, making your role as a mental health counselor crucial in providing tailored support that empowers individuals to overcome their struggles.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current, valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) within the state of Georgia.
• Successful completion of exams such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrable experience as a mental health counselor, specifically in outpatient settings.
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems like AVATAR, ensuring accurate documentation and case management.

• A background in treating clients with co-occurring disorders, including substance use and mental health conditions.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
• Knowledge of prescription medications and their effects, contributing to informed discussions with clients regarding their treatment options.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective client interactions and inter-professional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with clients, showcasing exceptional interpersonal skills.
