• Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.
• Provide compassionate short-term and long-term psychotherapy tailored to individuals, families, or groups dealing with grief, anxiety, and other related mental health issues associated with hospice care.
• Document client interactions and treatment progress consistently and accurately, adhering to clinic policies and New York State guidelines.
• Engage collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and fellow therapists in case consultations to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in regular clinical supervision sessions and team meetings to foster professional development and collaborative case management.
• Advocate effectively for client needs, connecting them with additional resources such as financial assistance or support groups when appropriate.
• Uphold the ethical and professional standards expected of licensed clinical social workers, providing an environment of trust and safety for clients.

As a licensed clinical social worker in our hospice care environment, you will primarily support patients and their families grappling with terminal illnesses. This role requires a sensitivity to the emotional and psychological complexities associated with end-of-life care. You will engage with a diverse array of clients, ensuring culturally competent support tailored to the unique backgrounds and needs of individuals from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and underrepresented communities.

• A current LCSW license in the state of New York is mandatory.
• A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is required.
• At least two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting is preferable, though newly licensed LCSWs are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency with evidence-based treatment methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.

Valence Counseling Services offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
