Job description

Position Overview

Complete and Wellness Mind Care P.C. is seeking a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our committed team in Rockford, Illinois. This full-time remote position allows you to utilize your clinical skills to provide therapeutic support to children and families dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Successful candidates will be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese and will be passionate about making a direct impact on the lives of children and their caregivers.

This position is entirely remote, allowing therapists the flexibility to work from home while offering telehealth services. Our telehealth facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate seamless communication and interaction with clients. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, primarily through telehealth platforms.
  • Conduct therapy with a focus on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development to address high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB) or physical aggression.
  • Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team, as well as other interdisciplinary professionals, to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Create and document treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation to track client progress and improve therapeutic strategies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through monthly team meetings and ongoing training opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are facing unique challenges associated with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work collaboratively with families to foster resilience, enhance coping mechanisms, and implement behavior management strategies that facilitate positive outcomes for youth and their caregivers.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality mental health services remotely.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in therapy.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for potential in-home visits in some circumstances.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support to children with special needs.
  • Previous work with children and families in crisis situations.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and documentation systems.
  • Flexibility to work after-school hours from 4-7 pm, with some weekend availability preferred.
