Job description

Quad is hiring a high-level Industrial Electrician / Controls Specialist to support and modernize our web offset press and bindery platforms across North America and Latin America. This is a hands-on, expert role for someone who can troubleshoot at depth, execute control retrofits, and keep complex production environments running at peak uptime.

Travel 30–40% within the U.S. & Latin America required. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Troubleshoot and repair printing press & bindery control systems
  • Lead retrofits and modernization projects (especially legacy DC drives)
  • Provide remote diagnostics and real-time support to multiple plants
  • Drive uptime, reliability, and performance improvements
  • Support installs, startups, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Travel to Quad sites across the U.S. and LATAM (30–40%)

What You Bring:

  • 15–20 years industrial electrical experience in printing or similar continuous manufacturing
  • Strong background with legacy DC drive systems + modern controls
  • Proven ability to execute engineering-level retrofits
  • Experience with major OEM platforms:
    GOSS, manroland, Müller Martini, Cerutti, KBA, Contiweb, Megtec, Butler, QuadTech
  • Some Spanish proficiency highly desirable 
  • Experience with remote troubleshooting tools/connectivity
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across sites and teams

Required Skills:

  • PLCs proficiency (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
  • Drive system experience from vintage DC & AC systems  to state of the art modern drive systems 
  • Web handling, tension control, dryers, finishing systems
