Work Environment

This position is fully remote, enabling you to create a work-life balance that suits your individual needs. While you operate from home, you will have the support of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team composed of fellow mental health professionals and educators dedicated to providing comprehensive care to students in our partner schools in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of student needs through interviews, observations, and standardized assessments, ultimately leading to personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions suited to each student's unique challenges, using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to mental health practices.
  • Engage collaboratively with a dedicated treatment team, including teachers, school nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure holistic care for each student.
  • Provide psychoeducation and support to students and their families, equipping them with tools and strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.
  • Stay current on mental health research and best practices to continuously improve the quality of care and services offered.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on supporting students within the school setting who may be experiencing emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges. You will work particularly with children and adolescents grappling with trauma, anxiety disorders, or symptoms of depression, helping them to navigate their school experience successfully and fostering resilience and coping strategies.

Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required, along with a valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • At least two years of relevant clinical experience, ideally within a school-based or outpatient mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing solution-based psychotherapy interventions and a strong ability to engage with clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on tailoring solutions to individual needs.
  • A collaborative approach that thrives in team dynamics and promotes shared decision-making.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in school systems or with children and adolescents in a clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices specific to youth mental health.
  • Competence in navigating dialogue with educators and community resources to facilitate support.
