Position Overview

The Veterans' Med Psychiatric Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide critical mental health services to adolescents and young adults, who are increasingly facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, and suicidal thoughts. Work Environment

This role is designed to be fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home or any location where you feel most effective. Utilizing advanced telehealth platforms, you'll engage with clients in an innovative, effective manner while maintaining a work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions via telehealth, ensuring that care is accessible and effective for all clients.
  • Conduct assessments and develop personalized treatment plans that align with client needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of sessions, treatment plans, and client progress to comply with organizational protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in case discussions and team meetings to leverage collective expertise, enhance skill sets, and collaborate on innovative treatment strategies.
  • Engage actively in continuous professional development through access to free online CEUs available for all clinical staff.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this position is on adolescent and young adult clients dealing with various mental health issues. With a commitment to creating a safe and supportive virtual environment, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with a manageable case load, consisting of no more than eight clients in group settings. This structure allows for in-depth work, fostering a therapeutic alliance that encourages sustainable healing and growth.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
  • Availability to commit a minimum of 12 hours per week for contract positions or 40 hours per week for W2 positions, including potential evening and weekend hours to accommodate client needs.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working with adolescents and young adults in a mental health or substance use treatment setting is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling techniques will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop treatment plans and engage with clients in a meaningful way.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, with an annual income between USD 115,000 and 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust salary, we offer a supportive working environment with free access to continuing education units (CEUs) to help maintain licensure and develop further skills.
