Job Description
UW Medical Center - Montlake is seeking an Experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our nationally recognized team providing exceptional care to pregnant patients, infants, and families. As a leading quaternary care center, we care for some of the region's most medically complex pregnancies and offer the opportunity to work alongside highly specialized multidisciplinary teams, including Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists and the Seattle Children's Hospital Fetal Program.

UNIT DESCRIPTION
  • Approximately 180 deliveries per month at our quaternary care hospital.
  • Nearly 70% of obstetric patients are high-risk, with medically complex co-morbidities managed in collaboration with our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) team.
  • State-of-the-art unit featuring; 14 Antepartum Rooms,9 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) Rooms, 6 Critical Care OB Rooms, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Recovery Bays, 2 Triage Rooms
  • Staffing aligned with AWHONN standards to support quality patient care and nurse well-being.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
This position is a Labor & Delivery nursing role at UW Medical Center and includes practice at both UW Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital as part of the UW Medical Center-Seattle Children's Fetal Intervention Program.
FETAL PROGRAM PARTNERSHIP
  • Admit patients for scheduled fetal procedures and fetal surgeries.
  • Provide intra-procedural nursing support during fetal interventions and surgeries as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Recover patients following procedures, including monitoring maternal and fetal status and delivering post-anesthesia and post-procedure care.
  • Deliver patient education, discharge planning, and ongoing post-procedure nursing care in collaboration with the fetal intervention team.

SCHEDULE
  • 90% FTE (36 hours per week)
  • Night Shift

REQUIREMENTS
  • Two years or more years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or eligible through the Multistate Licensure (MSL) Compact.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Equivalent education and experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where permitted, except when licensure, certification, or registration requirements apply.
