  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and mental status examinations, identifying behavioral changes and assessing risk factors relevant to the school setting.
  • Document therapeutic interventions and maintain detailed, accurate case notes, progress reports, treatment summaries, and educational recommendations that inform collaboration with school staff.
  • Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage high-stress situations with a focus on de-escalation, ensuring safety and emotional support.
  • Partner with educators, school counselors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, enhance treatment plans, and align therapy goals with student academic objectives.
  • Lead individual and group therapy sessions, adapting interventions based on group dynamics, student age, and developmental stage.
  • Engage in case reviews, share therapeutic insights, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the overall quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The role primarily focuses on school-aged children and adolescents, addressing a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and trauma-related challenges. You will work closely with families and educational staff to implement strategies that foster a supportive environment for the students, emphasizing both emotional wellness and academic achievement.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid LCSW license, with the ability to independently provide clinical services within the state of Georgia.
  • Adept in employing a variety of therapeutic techniques, with knowledge of best practices in school-based mental health interventions.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with clients and collaborating effectively with educators and caregivers.
  • Maintain a high level of empathy and emotional intelligence, ensuring that all client interactions demonstrate understanding and support.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical setting, particularly with a focus on school environments or child and adolescent mental health.
  • Experience navigating and utilizing telehealth platforms effectively in delivering therapy services.
  • Familiarity with systems of care, community resources, and mental health legislation impacting children and families.
