Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental and emotional well-being, utilizing various evaluation methods.
• Evaluate individual clients’ needs, issues, and goals to develop tailored treatment plans that guide therapeutic interventions.
• Provide individual therapy sessions that address a wide range of mental health concerns, employing evidence-based practices and techniques.
• Facilitate couples therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationship dynamics.
• Develop and adapt personalized treatment plans based on initial assessments and ongoing client feedback.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within an interdisciplinary team to create a well-rounded approach to client care.
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families, ensuring that all parties are informed and involved in the treatment process.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, supporting clients in acute distress with prompt, compassionate responses.
• Stay updated on the latest methodologies, research, and best practices in marriage and family therapy through ongoing education.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal standards governing therapy practices, ensuring confidentiality and client rights are upheld.
• Promote self-care among clients, encouraging engagement in wellness activities that foster resilience and emotional health.
• Represent Allina Healthcare professionally in all client interactions and uphold the organization's values and mission.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population that includes adolescents, adults, and couples facing a variety of mental health challenges. Your focus will be on providing empathetic care and practical strategies tailored to each client’s unique circumstances, assisting them in achieving their therapeutic goals and enhancing their overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist through the appropriate State Board.
• Demonstrable experience providing individual and/or couples therapy is essential.
• Competence in managing diverse client needs across various age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
• Demonstrated skills in completing thorough client assessments and developing effective treatment plans in a timely manner.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with proficiency in electronic health record systems highly preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in addressing specific mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and trauma.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual therapy techniques to enhance client engagement.
• Previous experience working within community health settings or with organizations focused on mental health advocacy.
