Casne Engineering is seeking a meticulous and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our specialized team, focusing on arc flash studies and comprehensive power system analyses. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in industry-standard power system modeling software such as SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or ETAP.

Position Overview

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in conducting harmonic studies, load flow analyses, and arc flash studies to ensure the stability, efficiency, and safety of electrical power distribution systems. You will also be responsible for identifying potential issues and providing mitigation strategies to optimize system performance and reliability.

This position may require occasional travel for site visits and data collection, working alongside a licensed electrician to gather field information essential for analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for industrial and commercial applications, including:
    • Medium & Low-Voltage Power Distribution Systems
    • Emergency & Standby Power Systems
    • Lighting, Networking, Security, and Auxiliary Systems
  • Perform power system modeling and analysis, including:
    • Load flow and short circuit analysis
    • Protective device coordination
    • Arc flash hazard calculations and mitigation strategies
  • Develop detailed power system study reports with actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (NFPA 70E, IEEE, NEC)
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams to provide technical guidance

Qualifications & Experience

Required (Technical)

  • BSEE degree with 2+ years of industry experience
  • Experience with SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or ETAP for power system analysis
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and PDF management

Required (Business & Soft Skills)

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Ability to travel occasionally for site visits as needed
  • Ability to pass background checks (including possible drug testing, per client requirements)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Washington State P.E. in Electrical Engineering (other states accepted)
  • Experience with relay settings and protective device coordination
