What is remote restaurant technology?

Remote restaurant technology refers to digital tools and systems that allow restaurant operations to be managed, monitored, or supported from a distance. This includes online ordering platforms, cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) systems, remote inventory management, and virtual customer service solutions. These technologies help restaurants streamline processes, enhance customer experiences, and adapt to new business models such as delivery and takeout. By using remote technology, restaurant owners and staff can access important data and manage tasks without being physically present at the restaurant.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote restaurant technology specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Restaurant Technology Specialist, you need expertise in point-of-sale (POS) systems, IT troubleshooting, and experience with restaurant operations, often supported by relevant certifications or a background in hospitality technology. Familiarity with cloud-based POS platforms, inventory management software, and remote support tools is typically required. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills help you resolve technical issues efficiently while supporting non-technical staff remotely. These skills and qualities are crucial for minimizing downtime, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, and maintaining high service standards.

How do professionals in remote restaurant technology typically collaborate with on-site restaurant staff to ensure smooth technology adoption and support?

Professionals in Remote Restaurant Technology regularly coordinate with on-site restaurant staff through virtual meetings, training sessions, and remote support tools. They often provide step-by-step guidance to help staff navigate new systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and gather feedback for ongoing improvements. Effective communication, patience, and a customer-service mindset are essential, as they bridge the gap between technical solutions and real-world restaurant operations. Building strong relationships with on-site teams fosters smoother adoption and maximizes the benefits of the technology implemented.

Position Overview:

HungerRush is seeking driven sales professionals who are passionate about helping independent restaurants and emerging restaurant chains thrive in today's digital restaurant economy.

The HungerRush 360 platform helps operators streamline operations, increase guest engagement, grow online ordering, improve customer retention, and gain actionable business insights. As part of our growing sales organization, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new restaurant customers within a defined Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), focusing primarily on restaurant groups operating between 1 and 25 locations.

This is a true hunter role designed for sales professionals who enjoy prospecting, creating opportunities, building executive relationships, and guiding customers through a consultative sales process from first conversation through close.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop a deep understanding of HungerRush's restaurant technology platform, payment solutions, and value proposition.
  • Identify, prospect, and engage restaurant operators and multi-unit restaurant groups within a defined ICP, primarily targeting brands operating 1-25 locations.
  • Build and execute a territory plan focused on generating new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic account targeting.
  • Generate pipeline through consistent outbound activity including cold calling, email outreach, social selling, and other prospecting channels.
  • Conduct discovery conversations with restaurant owners, operators, and executive stakeholders to understand business challenges and growth objectives.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and effectively communicate HungerRush's competitive advantages.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity management within Salesforce.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Sales Engineering, Payments, Implementation, and Customer Success teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive solutions, restaurant technology innovations, and payment processing strategies.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Qualifications:

  • 1.5+ years of successful B2B or SaaS sales experience with a demonstrated track record of prospecting and closing new business.
  • Experience managing a full sales cycle from initial outreach through signed agreement.
  • Strong consultative selling, discovery, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and relationships with restaurant owners, operators, and executive decision-makers.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce or similar CRM platforms to manage pipeline and forecasting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, highly competitive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Highly Preferred:

  • Restaurant technology, POS, payments, hospitality, or restaurant operations experience.
  • Experience selling into restaurant operators.
  • Experience with sales engagement and intelligence platforms such as Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Gong, Clari, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and territory development.
  • Restaurant Experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
