Job description

Company Mission

Our mission is to help customers save time and money when purchasing commercial kitchen equipment and supplies by providing a customer-centric shopping experience and leveraging our industry buying power.

Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Freelance B2B eCommerce CRO & Product Designer to help drive measurable growth across the RestaurantSupply.com customer experience.

This is not a traditional UX/UI or visual design role. We are looking for a product-minded designer who understands customer psychology, purchasing behavior, and conversion optimization.Your success will be measured by your ability to improve conversion rate, increase revenue, reduce customer friction, and create experiences that influence purchasing decisions.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience optimizing B2B eCommerce websites, high-ticket purchasing experiences, or large product catalog websites and can demonstrate measurable business results from work they personally led.

You should be equally comfortable analyzing customer behavior, interpreting analytics, developing experimentation hypotheses, designing solutions in Figma, collaborating with developers, and measuring business outcomes.

This is a part-time freelance (1099 independent contractor) engagement for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and takes ownership of delivering measurable commercial impact.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Analyze customer behavior, conversion funnels, session recordings, and analytics to identify opportunities that increase conversion rate and revenue.
  • Identify friction throughout the customer journey and recommend improvements based on behavioral insights, usability principles, and commercial objectives.
  • Design conversion-focused product experiences in Figma that are ready for developer implementation and optimized for business performance.
  • Optimize critical B2B eCommerce experiences including navigation, search, product discovery, product detail pages, cart, checkout, account workflows, and purchasing flows.
  • Develop hypotheses for A/B tests and collaborate with developers and experimentation teams to validate improvements through data.
  • Evaluate experiment results and continuously iterate based on customer behavior and business metrics.
  • Partner closely with engineering and stakeholders to prioritize high-impact opportunities that improve customer experience and commercial performance.
  • Maintain a consistent, professional, and trustworthy customer experience across a large product catalog.
  • Independently identify optimization opportunities rather than waiting for design requests.
  • Stay current on B2B eCommerce, customer behavior, conversion optimization, and product design best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience designing product experiences for B2B eCommerce, high-ticket eCommerce, or large-scale catalog websites.
  • Demonstrated success increasing conversion rate, revenue, average order value, lead quality, or other commercial KPIs through product design and experimentation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing measurable business outcomes, including the problem, your solution, experimentation approach, and results.
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma and experience creating developer-ready product designs and design systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4), Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, FullStory, or similar behavioral analytics platforms.
  • Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests and making product decisions based on quantitative data.
  • Strong understanding of customer psychology, purchasing behavior, usability principles, and conversion optimization.
  • Experience collaborating closely with developers to ensure high-quality implementation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with B2B commerce platforms or enterprise eCommerce.
  • Experience working with websites containing large product catalogs (10,000+ SKUs preferred).
  • Experience with Shopify or other enterprise eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience optimizing high-value purchasing journeys where trust and decision-making significantly impact conversion.
Working Hours

This is a remote, part-time freelance (1099 independent contractor) opportunity available to candidates located in the United States.

Working hours are flexible; however, candidates should have regular availability during U.S. business hours to collaborate with developers and stakeholders.

Weekly hours will be determined based on project priorities and business needs.

Why Work With Us?

We believe that what you do and where you work matters. We foster a collaborative, results-driven environment where your work directly impacts the customer experience and the growth of the business.

You'll have the opportunity to influence purchasing behavior at scale, validate your ideas through experimentation, and see the measurable impact of your work through improvements in conversion, customer satisfaction, and revenue.

If you're passionate about solving business problems through customer-centered product design and data-driven experimentation, we'd love to hear from you.

Perks and Benefits

As a freelance engagement, this role offers:

  • Fully remote work flexibility.
  • Flexible part-time schedule.
  • Opportunity to influence a high-traffic B2B eCommerce platform.
  • Direct access to analytics, behavioral insights, and experimentation initiatives.
  • Close collaboration with product, engineering, and eCommerce leadership.
  • Opportunity for an ongoing freelance relationship based on performance and business needs.

This is an independent contractor engagement and does not include employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, or paid time off.
