Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Gaming is seeking a Special agent that will be the primary on site (ADG) representative/liaison to Tribes operating casinos in the State of Arizona. Special agents are responsible for achieving voluntary compliance with all compact requirements through the positive relationships and partnerships they develop with their counterparts in the Tribal Gaming Office. Special Agents will monitor the Tribe's gaming and regulatory operations through frequent on-site visits conducted at various Casino's and investigate actual or suspected violations of the Tribal State Gaming Compacts. Special Agents will be required to review various TGO and Casino report documents and records and also observe casino operations to determine compliance with gaming compacts.
Work Environment & Travel Requirements:
Work in a casino, which can be a smoke and high dust environment.
Be able to stand for extended periods.
Lift 20 pounds and be able to look underneath card tables to verify equipment.
Travel to all casinos within the State, which will at times may include overnight stays, weekends, and evenings.

Job Duties:

Conduct investigations to ensure compliance with the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact as well as State and Federal laws.
Conduct regular site visits to Tribal casinos.
Prepare comprehensive reports documenting site visit activity and compliance concerns.
Maintain a database of information for each assigned Tribe.
Complete certifications of gaming equipment.
Monitor compliance with unusual occurrence reporting requirements for Tribal partners.
Assist other Department of Gaming work units with on and off-reservation investigations and duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):


Knowledge of:
The Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact and its Appendices.
The Arizona Revised Statutes, and applicable federal laws.
Investigative techniques.
Interviewing techniques.
Microsoft, G-Suite, and software based investigative tools and resources.
Native American cultures and their sovereignty.
Skills in:
Working independently.
Gathering facts, organizing and comprehending information to make logical interpretations necessary to perform operational duties.
Computer literate, have basic typing skills and possess diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
Basic understanding of the Tribal-State Compact, as it relates to their assigned duties.
Ability to:

Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
