ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an Associate Manager, Category Leadership - Albertsons to champion our categories. In this high-impact role, you'll partner closely with our sales team to influence Albertsons through strategic category management, shopper behavior analysis, and compelling data-driven storytelling. You'll leverage macro trends, proprietary research, and industry insights to shape category strategies that win with both the retailer and the shopper. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides category & retailer specific solutions and recommendations based on key learnings and insights generated through analysis and research from a broad range of sources

  • Completes retailer category reviews utilizing category analysis, shopper insights and analytic tools

  • Completes category analyses on assortment, retail pricing, and trade promotions

  • Analyzes data from sources such as syndicated scan and panel data, loyalty card data, retailer point-of-sale data, and space planning software

  • Supports and guides Albertsons in their go-to-market strategies that incorporate shopper insights and market trends

  • Works with the internal Shopper Insights & Center of Excellence teams, Category Managers, and Albertsons Category Managers to develop category learning plans

  • Supports and provides recommendations to the Sales Team on the category landscape and how that affects SCJ products and position

  • Turns category and shopper insights into actionable recommendations via storytelling

  • Utilizes category and aisle expertise to provide shelf merchandising and item placement

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S without need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years relevant experience OR advanced degree and 3+ years relevant experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Full knowledge and understanding of the category management process

  • Ability to develop fact-based business plans and to provide strategic input

  • Ability to develop, deliver and execute an objective fact-based presentation through storytelling

  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Complete understanding of syndicated scan and panel data

  • Complete understanding and familiarity of retailer point of sale data

  • Capability to discover new tools and learn quickly how to use them with customers

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for building internal and external relationships and working on a high-performance team

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to bring a story out of large amounts of data that is impactful to the retailer

  • Proactive and committed to delivering results in a fast paced, demanding work environment by fostering a sense of urgency, energy, ownership, and a curiosity to search for opportunities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time remote, field-based role in Boise, ID

  • Travel up to 25%, mostly internal sales meetings

  • May require relocation for future opportunities

  • This role is not eligible for relocation assistance
