  • Implement grief and loss counseling services for residents and families coping with end-of-life issues, offering guidance and compassionate support during difficult times.
  • Develop and execute cognitive stimulation and mental health interventions designed to enhance mental acuity and quality of life in the elderly population.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Centra Medical Center, we specialize in supporting elderly clients—many of whom are experiencing significant life changes such as bereavement, relocation to assisted living, or coping with chronic health issues. Our counselors work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring culturally sensitive approaches to enhance the mental health and overall well-being of our elderly patients.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York State.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant, hands-on experience providing mental health treatment specifically to geriatric patients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices and interventions tailored to aging populations.
  • Ability to conduct detailed assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs of each patient.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport and trust with elderly clients and their families.
Preferred Experience

  • Experience using telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling services effectively.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the ethical and legal standards involved in geriatric mental health counseling.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000, along with a potential sign-on bonus. Benefits include:

  • Access to an employee assistance program that provides confidential support and counseling services to promote mental health and well-being.
