Job description

Varstaff is looking for a SAAS Buyer for our client in Merritt Island, Florida, Washington State or Hollywood, CA. 
In this role, you will join the procurement team specializing in the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of software services, IT/ET (Information Technology/Engineering Technology) hardware, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. Supporting critical aerospace and defense operations, you will manage purchase requisitions, review software licensing agreements, negotiate optimal pricing and terms, and mitigate risk. You will work closely with internal stakeholders—including IT, Engineering, Finance, and Legal—to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of indirect goods and services.

What We’re Looking For Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 3–5 years of procurement/purchasing experience, with a direct focus on indirect categories.

  • Hands-on experience sourcing software services, IT/ET hardware, and/or SaaS solutions.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving delivery, invoicing, and contract performance issues.

  • Proven ability to handle spend analysis, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and manage multiple priorities independently.

Must-Have Skills

  • Software & IT Procurement: Strong working knowledge of software licensing models (perpetual, enterprise agreements, OEM), SaaS subscription structures, and IT hardware procurement.

  • Negotiation & Contracting: Demonstrated skill negotiating pricing, terms, conditions, and contract clauses while analyzing total cost of ownership and mitigating financial risk.

  • Systems Proficiency: Proficiency with enterprise ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar).

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across technical, financial, and legal departments.

  • Compliance & Record Keeping: Ability to maintain rigorous procurement records to support audit, regulatory compliance, and ethical sourcing standards.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing industries.

  • Familiarity with government contracting procurement compliance requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS).

  • Professional procurement certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM, or equivalent).

  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
