The Role

The Senior Lead Cloud Engineer position plays a critical role in delivering on that promise.

Provide expert technical direction in the analysis of multiple and complex systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media. Partner and collaborate with others in the resolution of interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms. Responsible for ensuring the implementation of technical solutions utilizing expertise learned from multiple and complex client environments. Consult and assess industry advances in technical system technologies.

Location

This is a work from home position within the US. 

The Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud costs
  • Establish and enforce tagging standards and cost allocation policies. Ensure all resources are tagged every month
  • Automate cost management tasks and integrate FinOps tools into CI/CD pipelines
  • Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures
  • 24 X 7 X 365 cost monitoring 
  • Mentor / cross-train team members on existing and new technologies
  • Generate automating reporting, define and implement policies related to cost optimization
  • Carry out special tasks at Management's direction
  • RBAC/ ABAC access based access control and IAM privilege management
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • 5+ years of overall experience and 2+ years as FinOps engineer
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms and pricing models
  • Deep understanding of cloud native cost management tools and Flexera One Cloud Cost Optimization
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FinOps Certified Engineer or similar certification
  • Experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
  • May travel for 1-2 times/year for workshops

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$138,844 - $185,124 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 
$145,456 - $193,940 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
