Job description

Job Title: Reinsurance Accountant
Location: Remote-Contract for approx. 5-6 months
Pay Range:$33/HR- $36/HR (Based on experience & qualifications)
Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k)

Role Overview:

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Reinsurance Accountant with our client, a leading organization in the insurance industry. This is a fully remote contract opportunity supporting a major reinsurance accounting system implementation initiative. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of reinsurance accounting experience, strong reconciliation skills, and advanced Excel proficiency.

 

Reinsurance Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Assist in validating system-generated premium and loss calculations to ensure accurate results by program
  • Investigate discrepancies between system calculations, manual processing results, and general ledger balances
  • Collaborate with program accounting and IT teams to support data validation
  • Perform high-level analysis comparing pre-production and production system results
  • Review and validate reinsurance accounting data for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with system implementation and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure accounting information is accurate and properly reconciled

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of reinsurance accounting experience required
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with data reconciliation required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with reinsurance accounting systems is highly preferred
