Senior Managing Director

The Role

Red Flag Global is seeking a senior corporate affairs leader to help build our Americas and global practices. This is a senior client counselor and business development role, working across complex public affairs, regulatory, campaign, and reputational mandates for major corporate and association clients.

The SMD/SVP will serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating high-stakes challenges, will develop and execute integrated communications and public affairs programs and campaigns, lead and develop teams, and play a central role in winning and growing client relationships.

As a Senior Managing Directorreporting to the President, Red Flag Americas, this person will also contribute to the firm's strategic direction andoperations in the Americas and globally.

The role is remote, with access to Ankura's Seattle office and an expectation of travel to clients, prospects and the Red Flag team as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated public affairs and corporate communications campaigns across policy, reputational, regulatory and stakeholder engagement mandates.
  • Oversee cross-functional campaign workstreams spanning strategic communications, digital advocacy, stakeholder engagement, coalition management, research and field execution.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered efficiently, on time, on budget and aligned with client objectives.
Strategic Counsel
  • Serve as a senior advisor to corporate and association clients on high-profile policy, regulatory and reputational challenges.
  • Translate complex strategic challenges into clear, actionable recommendations and communications programs.
  • Build and maintain senior client relationships through trusted advice, sound issues management and strong interpersonal engagement.
  • Partner closely across Red Flag and Ankura practices to deliver the highest-quality integrated client service.

Leadership & Business Development

  • Build and grow a portfolio of client business, with an initial target of at least $1 million in net new annual revenue.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new client opportunities and develop and lead pitches across the Americas market and beyond.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen scope and expand relationships within existing accounts.
  • Build, develop and retain high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous development.
  • Serve as a Red Flag/Ankura Senior Managing Director, contributing to firm strategy, culture and operations.
  • Collaborate across Red Flag offices and Ankura practices to bring the full breadth of the firm's capabilities to bear for clients.

What We Are Looking For

  • A seasoned corporate affairs or public affairs professional with at least 15 years of experience across in-house, agency or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated success advising senior executives on complex reputational, regulatory and policy challenges.
  • Experience designing and executing integrated campaigns that span earned, owned, paid and stakeholder channels.
  • A track record of winning and sustaining significant client or stakeholder relationships.
  • A proven ability to build, lead and develop teams, with high standards for performance and a commitment to growing talent.
  • Commercial instincts and the confidence to generate business independently.
  • The ability to work across a lean, high-performance international firm.
  • Willingness to travel to clients, prospects and team as required.
