Job description

Overview AARP Foundation is the nation's leading organization serving the 39 million older adults living in poverty or one life event away from slipping into it. Volunteer Recruitment Manager The Volunteer Recruitment Manager establishes volunteer partnerships and leverages internal and external resources to achieve the organization's volunteer engagement goals.

The role involves developing, advising, supporting, coordinating, and collaborating on strategic volunteer engagement projects and technologies, anticipating volunteer needs, and designing materials, processes, trainings, and programs to maximize volunteer engagement. The manager collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Responsibilities

Anticipate volunteer needs and design materials, processes, procedures, and programs to meet those needs. Develop and implement volunteer training and leadership programs; support volunteer needs and design opportunities to maximize engagement. Leverage internal and external resources, including cross‐functional teams, volunteers, and members, to achieve organizational volunteer engagement goals. Recruit, train, develop, and deploy volunteers in accordance with organizational goals; align volunteers' interests with organizational priorities.

Ensure inclusion of volunteer perspectives in strategic planning. Work with cross‐functional teams to advance state and national volunteer strategies and goals. Assist volunteers, staff partners, and external volunteer organizations across multiple channels to ensure individuals can effectively contribute. Qualifications 5+ years of program management experience and a bachelor's degree. Proven success recruiting volunteers through effective outreach, engagement, marketing, sales, or recruitment strategies. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and occasionally throughout the United States as needed.

Preferred

Bilingual (Spanish). Experience in non‐profit or membership‐based organizations, consulting, or other sectors where growing participation, building partnerships, and using data to improve outcomes have been central.
