What is a Remote Recording Studio Internship?

A Remote Recording Studio Internship is a position where interns gain experience working with audio production, mixing, and recording from a remote location rather than on-site in a physical studio. Interns typically assist with editing audio tracks, participating in virtual studio sessions, learning industry-standard software, and collaborating with engineers and producers online. This type of internship allows students or aspiring audio professionals to develop hands-on skills in music production, sound engineering, and studio management while working from home or another remote environment. It is ideal for those looking to build their resume and network in the music industry without geographical limitations.

What are some typical responsibilities and learning opportunities for a Remote Recording Studio Intern?

As a Remote Recording Studio Intern, you'll often assist with editing audio tracks, organizing session files, and supporting virtual recording sessions under the guidance of experienced engineers or producers. You'll gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software, such as Pro Tools or Ableton, and learn best practices for remote collaboration and file management. Additionally, you'll have opportunities to observe the production process, participate in creative brainstorming, and receive mentorship, all of which can help you build a professional network and develop practical skills for a future career in audio production.

The Remote Recording Studio Internship is an entry-level position designed for individuals gaining experience in audio recording, often requiring basic knowledge. In contrast, a Remote Audio Engineer is a professional role demanding advanced skills and certifications. Internships focus on learning and skill development, while audio engineers handle complex projects independently. Both roles are integral to the audio production industry but differ in experience level and responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Recording Studio Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Recording Studio Intern, you generally need a foundational understanding of audio engineering, music production, and familiarity with recording techniques, often gained through coursework or hands-on experience. Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live, as well as knowledge of audio file management and remote collaboration platforms, is typically required. Strong communication, time management, and adaptability are essential soft skills for excelling while working remotely and supporting creative teams. These skills ensure effective collaboration, technical accuracy, and productivity in a fast-paced, remote studio environment.

We're growing fast and looking for great people to join us.

Please submit your application through this posting only. We are unable to review applications sent via email, direct messages, or website inquiries, and outreach through these channels may impact consideration.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for an Account Manager to be the first point of contact for incoming clients and the connective tissue between them and our creative team. This role sits at the intersection of client relationships and production โ€” you'll guide prospects from initial inquiry through scoping and close, then maintain the relationship to drive repeat business and referrals.

You have a background in film or production, which means you can speak credibly about timelines, deliverables, and creative process from day one. You're organized, personable, and care deeply about the client experience. This is a remote role.

What You'll Do

Client Intake & Conversion

  • Own the inbound lead pipeline โ€” respond quickly, qualify opportunities, and guide prospects through the decision process

  • Lead discovery calls to understand client goals, scope projects accurately, and set clear expectations

  • Prepare proposals and scopes of work in collaboration with creative leadership

  • Close new business and hand off seamlessly to the creative producer and production team

Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all pricing questions, scope changes, and contract matters

  • Build and nurture client relationships that generate repeat business and referrals

  • Develop and maintain the sales playbook, proposal templates, and client-facing collateral

  • Proactively request client reviews, testimonials, and flag clients who are strong candidates for case studies

CRM & Pipeline

  • Own the health of the CRM โ€” keep pipeline data accurate, up to date, and actionable

  • Track and report on key sales metrics including conversion rates, lead sources, and deal velocity

  • Ensure all client and deal records are maintained accurately in Airtable and our CRM

Production Handoff & Coordination

  • Collaborate with producers and creatives to ensure project scopes are realistic and resourced correctly

  • Flag scope creep or misaligned expectations early and resolve them before they reach the production team

  • Identify process gaps and propose improvements to how we intake, scope, and close clients

What We're Looking For
  • 2โ€“4 years of experience in a producer, account management, business development, sales, or growth role โ€” ideally at an agency, production company, or creative studio

  • Background in film, video, or content production is a strong plus โ€” you understand how shoots, edits, and creative timelines actually work

  • Natural communicator โ€” you're warm, clear, and clients feel confident in your hands

  • Highly organized โ€” you can manage multiple active deals and client relationships simultaneously

  • Self-directed and proactive โ€” you surface problems before they become fires

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

  • Strong written English and attention to detail
