Job description

Soundview Consultants, a Trinity Consultants team, is a respected environmental firm with over 15 years of service in the Pacific Northwest. We specialize in land and marine use planning, permitting, and ecological assessments near wetlands, streams, and shorelines. Our team supports diverse clients across the Puget Sound region with expertise, integrity, and a collaborative spirit.

Soundview is looking to add a Technical Coordinator to the team! The Technical Coordinator supports Project Managers and internal teams in the coordination, execution, and tracking of environmental consulting projects. This role focuses on ensuring consistent project delivery across multiple workstreams through strong communication, organization, and follow-through. The position is responsible for managing discrete project tasks, supporting permitting and documentation efforts, coordinating with design and technical staff, and maintaining overall project awareness to meet internal and client expectations. The role begins with scope and budget development responsibilities and progresses into broader task execution and project support.

What will I be doing?

  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for assigned tasks and projects in coordination with Project Managers and contract specialists.
  • Support proposal preparation (RFQ/RFP) in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Maintain communication with clients and internal teams as directed by Project Managers.
  • Support implementation of project plans developed by Project Managers.
  • Oversee small teams for delivery of specific tasks or project components.
  • Identify project risks and escalate key decisions or issues to Project Managers.
  • Coordinate with design and technical teams to ensure mapping, design, and deliverables meet client deadlines.
  • Research and interpret applicable regulatory codes and background information (e.g., land use, critical areas) to support project analyses.
  • Submit and track permit applications; maintain accurate and organized project records.
  • Prepare draft technical deliverables such as Wetland Assessment Reports, Biological Evaluations, Habitat Assessments, and related documentation.
  • Complete additional project-related tasks as assigned.

What qualifications are required for this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, environmental planning, or a related field required.
  • 1 – 3 years of prior experience in environmental consulting, project coordination, or natural resources permitting preferred.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating projects and/or teams preferred.
  • Field experience related to environmental data collection or assessments preferred.
  • Knowledge of or interest in environmental project management, natural resource permitting, or environmental planning.
  • Strong technical writing and data-entry skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to identify project risks and support decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and provide timely, high-quality service to clients and team members.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

The wage range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00 per hour.

What does Soundview and Trinity offer you?

  • Comprehensive benefits package: 9 paid holidays, healthcare benefits, PTO, and 401k matching for full-time employees. Flexible work schedules and remote/hybrid possibilities for most roles.
  • Multidisciplinary environment: Unique, creative, and challenging projects where you can develop your vision of clientele and work with industry leaders daily.
  • Success-oriented environment: Two-way mentorship, financial incentives to publish work, tuition reimbursement, and a career-path structure to help you reach the next steps in your career.
  • Collaborative work environment: Clear and frequent communication, shared information and ideas across teams, and a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
