About the Opportunity:
An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join its Real Estate practice.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an attorney with substantial experience handling commercial office and retail leasing matters. The ideal candidate will have experience representing both landlords and tenants and be comfortable taking ownership of sophisticated leasing matters from negotiation through completion.
Additional transactional commercial real estate experience is a plus, but leasing experience is the primary focus of the role.
What You'll Do:
  • Draft and negotiate commercial office and retail leases and related documents.
  • Represent both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters.
  • Draft and negotiate lease amendments, letters of intent, subordination and non-disturbance agreements, assignment and sublease consents, estoppels, commission agreements and related documents.
  • Assist with purchase and sale agreements, deeds, assignments, financing documents and other transactional real estate documents.
  • Review and summarize due diligence materials, including leases and service contracts.
  • Monitor transaction contingencies and deadlines.
  • Review and prepare title and survey objections.
  • Prepare and review closing documentation.
  • Conduct real estate closings and handle post-closing documentation and administration.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, paralegals and other firm professionals.
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Independently manage multiple matters and competing priorities.

What We're Looking For:
  • 6+ years of legal experience with substantial commercial real estate experience.
  • Strong experience with commercial office and/or retail leasing.
  • Experience representing both landlords and tenants.
  • Strong lease drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Additional transactional commercial real estate experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
